Challenge

The internal system FECON is operating is built on-premise and uses old hardware, which consumes time to access as well as effort and cost to maintain and administer the system.
FECON needs a cloud-based infrastructure solution that ensures security, high availability and flexible costs.

Solution

The team of CMC TS experts used AWS Migration Services, AWS Database Migration to convert application systems (Apps) and databases (Databases) to AWS.
The application system uses EC2 with an EBS (Amazon Elastic Block Store) volume that supports additional I/O operations per second (IOPS), making system access quick.
The database system uses Amazon RDS Relational Database Service (Relational Database Service) with a pre-set backup schedule to Amazon S3, providing stability and avoiding data loss.
The system was deployed at a fast pace, completed within only 1 month.

Result

The new system helps FECON eliminate system errors encountered when operating on the on-premise environment
By switching from the equipment investment cost model (CAPEX) to the operating cost in the cloud (OPEX), FECON saves 35% on costs compared to operating the old system.
