CMC joins the community in a charity run to raise funds for Smile Surgery

The running event marks the beginning of a series of activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of CMC Corporation. This occasion serves as an opportunity for CMC employees and the community to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and showcase their social responsibility with each step they take. The race sees the participation of CMC staff, along with thousands of customers and athletes, as well as Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) from the running community both within and outside the country. Their shared goal is to contribute to providing 30 cleft palate surgeries to children in need through the Operation Smile fund.

The Digital Heritage Race will kick off from 00:00 on Friday, April 8th, 2023, and run until 23:59 on Sunday, May 7th, 2023. Participants can choose to run at their convenience at any time during the day and record their results using the VietRace365 app. CMC Corporation aims to contribute 300 million VND to the Operation Smile Fund, equivalent to funding 30 cleft palate surgeries for children in need, with an expected total completed distance of 300,000 km. For every valid 1 km of running/walking, participants in the race will contribute 1,000 VND to the fund, shortening the journey to bring back smiles for underprivileged children.

Recognizing the practical and humanitarian significance of the race, representing Operation Smile – the partner organization of the "Inspiring Run CMC 28" and "Speed Up" events initiated and organized by CMC Corporation – Mr. Nguyen Viet Phuong, the Country Director of Operation Smile Vietnam, stated: "Operation Smile is honored to be the charitable partner of the "Inspiring Run CMC 28" in 2021 and "Speed Up" in 2022, both initiated and organized by CMC Corporation. Beyond being an annual event for the company's employees, the race has garnered increasing participation from the community each year, inspiring a spirit of athleticism and, most importantly, contributing to changing the smiles and brightening the futures of 57 children born with facial deformities. In 2023, Operation Smile continues its partnership with CMC in The Digital Heritage Race, coinciding with the celebration of CMC's 30th anniversary, with the goal of transforming the lives of 30 children with cleft lips and palates from the central provinces."

Numerous both professional and amateur runners enthusiastically participated in the run to support the fundraising program for cleft palate surgeries. Sports commentator Quang Tung shared his excitement: "Apart from the moments we passionately commentate on football matches with a microphone, we, the sports commentators, also have to train our physical fitness, including running. This time, we are delighted to join nearly 6,000 runners nationwide in supporting the run to raise funds for 30 children with cleft lip and palate deformities."

Athlete Pham Thi Hong Le shared her excitement: "I participated in the run organized by CMC in 2021 and 2022 because I saw the spirit of sports and community sharing, especially towards children with cleft lips and palates, which is very encouraging. Personally, I am very happy to know that CMC continues to organize the run to commemorate its 30th anniversary, and has increased the goal to provide 30 smiles to children through the Operation Smile fund. I hope that this year, sports enthusiasts and running enthusiasts will join this race so that we can not only improve our health but also spread the spirit of sports to change lives in the community."

Singer Duc Tuan, the Smile Ambassador of Operation Smile organization, joyfully expressed, "The running events organized by CMC and their fundraising efforts for Operation Smile have been increasingly embraced by the running community, including myself. This is the second consecutive year that CMC has launched the running event to support the Operation Smile organization. Step 3: Athletes should install (on their smart device) and connect the Strava app or Garmin/Sunnto watch to their personal account on Vietrace365 for continuous and cumulative result updates until the end of the race.

Install the Vietrace365 app on your smart device (Android/IOS).

Use your Vietrace365 login information to log into the app. Users can view information on the web platform.

Tap the "Record" button and select Start.

After finishing the run, tap Stop and Save.

The athlete's results will be continuously accumulated, updated, and displayed on the race leaderboard.
